Clutch too tight ?
rpm power after a shift or from dead start.
it engages fast, teeny bit of leeway for
not giving it enough gas. Does it need juust
to be broken in? or do I have to go to work
on it?
Fe power
Not really clear on what your problem is. Are you saying that when the clutch engages you are bogging down the engine? I do not know of any alignment that changes the "speed" that a clutch activates. The "speed" that your foot comes off the clutch pedal is the only thing to change.
You can change the location that the clutch engages in relation to your clutch pedal by adjusting the rod located down by the clutch fork.
If your engine bogs when the clutch engages I would think that your problem is somewhere besides the clutch.

You can adjust that. I probably was not to clear in my last post. You want to adjust the "adjuster" so that the throw out bearing(some folks call it the Release bearing) is close but NOT touching the springs on the pressure plate. If adjusted to far in, the bearing will touch the plate and always be spinning leading to it quickly wearing out. If adjusted to far out the clutch pedal will be out but the clutch will not be released all the way and prone to slip.
Take off the inspection cover (Oops, if you have one. My ole 1970 does)and look (feel) for the bearing, make sure it is not touching the back of the pressure plate. Adjust the nut on the rod that presses on the end of the clutch fork for this.
Is this a new clutch kit? The reason I ask is that I just replaced the one on my truck. The local parts house gave me the wrong one, twice!! It was for a 400m not a 390. It would go together but not release.
Good luck,
Lee
