when i press down the brake pedal somewhat hard, it sounds like theres air or someting being released.. sound odd? i think so. it brakes fine but, it's just sometimes.. the brake pedal goes really low and sometimes it doesnt. the lines have been bled.. but, i still get that sound and it sounds like it comes from inside the cabin :/
depends on whether or not you are a do it yourself type of guy. if you are look in your haynes manual it should help you out
its basically 4 bolts behind the dash on the firewall and you have to bleed the brake system and remove that big black bowl on the drivers side firewall and replace it
A leaky booster is essentially a vacuum leak. If it gets bad enough, it can cause engine problems like any vacuum leak can. Also, you're letting unfiltered air into the engine through the vacuum booster.
If it were my truck, I'd take care of it. It's not a difficult repair, but I would definitely advise getting a repair manual.
It might not be the booster.
I had the same noise, changed the booster, still had the noise, vacuum hiss.
Then I found this button switch thing that the brake pedal activated. It has a black hose attached. When the brakes are off, the button is pushed in, no hiss.
When the pedal is push down, button out, hissing.
It's the cruise control disconnect. It's a safety feature so that if the cruise module doesn't disengage, the hose you see at the brake pedal opens the vacuum line to fresh air to keep the vacuum servo from pulling the throttle open since it doesn't have vacuum to do that anymore.
