I have a 1994 ford 250 turbo diesel (not powerstroke) I just bought it recently. It is my first 3/4 ton and my first diesel and it kicks ***!
I broke the steel on my drivers seat and it is reclined back all the way. I know I need a new seat and I'm on my way to the wreckers this weekend but will a seat out of an F150 fit my F250. It is a bucket seat with an armrest on the right side and power lumbar support.
This question would get more responses down in this forum 1987 - 1996 F150 And Larger F-Series Trucks. But in those years seats from F150-F350 should all interchange without problems.
Turbo,
Good luck finding the bucket seats. I had a 92 and it took me a few years to find a set to replace the bench. The bone yards are really proud of those 150/250 seats and if you find a set they will need to be recovered. Have you talken it apart to see if it could be welded and then have the pair recovered.
just a thought
Tim
As do broncos, which is an excellent source for bucket seats that almost bolt in (a little drilling never hurt anyone). Just make sure you take the sliders too.
Since I have a crewcab, I had two bench seats. So I wanted to replace the front bench with a pair of buckets. Couldn't find a set of affordable bronco seats in good enough condition, so I made brackets to mount a pair of near-mint minivan seats. The color even matched.
Good post. I saw a set of Lincoln Continental seats yesterday that look awfully tempting as replacements for my "leather" seats which are getting cracked and ripped. I'd love for those to fit, as they look really comfy, but I doubt they have that handy air pocket adjustible lumbar support, and I highly doubt that they're interchangeable without some fabbing and drilling...
Thanks for all the good answers guys. Like I said I'm new to this site and it is awesome. Update on the seats.....I called some wreckers yesterday to find some and up here in the middle of saskatchewan canada there are barely any seats available. I don't need a good seat because it is only the bracket that is broken. A wrecked seat will work fine because I can take the covers off of my seat to colour match. So I'm still looking into it and I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks frederic, I will call the wreckers again and see if they have any other 150's of that year for the seat.
JCP - I had to fab to make the minivan seats fit into my crewcab. But they look and feel good (the latter being more important).
here is what I did if you're interested. I simply made a "bench seat frame" that bolts to the existing bench seat sliders, then welded on tabs to bolt the minivan seats to once I figured out what parts of the seats I didn't need.
Though it's a bit of a kludge... I have two sliding mechanisms. The original bench seat slides are what I used for my subframe, so I can slide both seats forward and back together as if they were a bench seat. And, the minivan driver's seat has sliders also, which I left installed because then both seats were the same height off the floor (the passenger seat has spacers). So I ended up moving the subframe back a bit, giving my wife with a 36" inseam some more leg room, and moving the driver's seat forward a bit, so with my bad back I have leverage to hit the brake pedal hard enough in an emergency. Everyone's happy. Took a few hours to "engineer" this, and about 2 hours to make the subframe and get everything in. I still need to prime/paint the subframe.
Do all bronco buckets have an inside armrest? I have a pair in my truck there high back with a matching plastic center console. Im just wondering becaus eI want to get them pe padded and upholstered and I dont know if there really bronco seats........lol that would suck. Id rather have those two piece bench jobs those are very nice!
It sounds like what you described are the Bronco and F-series seats. My buddie's EddieBauer has the bench seat, but my 94 XLT has the Lariat package listed on the door sticker. I have two adjustable bucket seats with power lumbar, and a seat in the middle with the flip down console. The console has two cupholders. I know these seats are stock since my grandfathers 250 XLT have the same seats in it. They are the best feeling seats around!
I have the same seats as 02FordFx4 and they are very comfy- my 3-year old girl has laid claim to the middle seat because it is just her size (getting her back into the kids-seat is a major struggle). The only bummer about these seats are the burn marks from the previous owner, it bugs me so much that I'm trying to find seat covers (until my money tree produces a large enough yield so I can get the interior redone, a blower, headers etc., etc.).

Good stuff, thanks! I'll bookmark that one for future reference.
Well guys, my patience and persistance has FINALLY paid off with seats. A guy in the next town 7 miles away had some nice seats out a rolled 99 jeep grand cherokee. perfect shape, never smoked in, no burns, $60, plus he threw in the center console! They match my grey interior perfectly. And the best part, ive done some measuring and it looks like they will fit and i just have to make 1 braket per seat and do some drilling. If that doesnt work, I think i can use fredericks mounting method (thanks for putting pics and instructions online, gives alot of good ideas.) Now i just need to decide what to do for the center console---use the jeep one, build one, or buy one with a seat.

I'd use the jeep one if you have it. After all, you have it
And you're welcome, that's why I put the pictures online with crude text descriptions. No sense in reinventing the wheel. Takes longer
