Odd hose

Exclamation Odd hose

im in the middle of removing the cats on my 93 f150 shortbed and in the space between the 2 cats is a hose. what is this hose, what does it do?

Not for sure, but it might be the hose from the air pump. Pumps air into the cats to help them burn more efficiently.

If you're not putting the cats back on, just cap it off and secure it out of the way, unless you plan on removing more of the emissions parts.

Or, if your replacing the cat's with one, get it with the a.i.r. tube connection. I don't think you can cap it unless the air pump isn't operational. i.e. Bypassed. Someone else should be able to chime in here and describe exactly how that emmision component works.
