a buddy of mine said he saw a security system on a guys truck and had 5 stages to it. 1- a few beeps 2- loud sirens 3-voice warnings 4-air horns and 5- if you touched the vehicle you would get shocked. i had some stuff stolen out of my truck a few weeks ago and i am fed up with the theives so im lookin for this security system. sounds like it would work like a charm. anybody heard of it?
Be careful with #5. That would be defined a "booby trap" and would be illegal to use in most states. Consider also if it was a kid that ended up tripping your alarm - if you barbeque the kid, the criminal and civil liabilities will be fierce.
Most alarms have a two-stage alarm - something to warn people, then the full-up alarm. Personally, I'm installing a Viper 791XV, with the horn output set to constant (to drive a relay). When you get the full alarm response, believe me, it'll get interesting.
