need help installing timing chain

I bought a S.A Gear performance timing chain for my 78 400, It has the 3 keyways in the gear...one is 0, one is +4 and one is -4, my questions is:

according to the instructions that came with it, 0 is the factory timing, so would I install it +4 to make it straight up?? I'm sorry for the dumb question, but I didnt know how to make it straight up...TIA, Charles

Install it at 0. The factory timing gear was set up retarded 4°. Compare your new gear with the old one and you can see the old one was set at -4°.
