I am looking to purchase a 1968 Ford F250. The truck seems fairly clean, but since was stored in a barn the crossmember under the cab is rusted and would need to be replaced. Also the support braces at the front that attach to the cab, where the hood mounts and the fenders attach, both of these would need to be replaced. Are this parts readily available new or would I have to try to find them in a junk yard?

It is a nice truck with a 360 in it. It would a good restoration project.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Oct-02 AT 04:48 PM (EST)]The front cab mounts are available as well as the floor pans above them. I have seen crossmember patches available. It is not the full cross member, but it is long enough to be able to cut out the rot and replace. They also have full inner fenders or patches for the tops of them where the hood hinge bolts on. Patches or full fenders are available. You'll be hard pressed to find these trucks without rust in these specific places. Good luck if you get the truck.
