I was thinking about welding solid rocket boosters to the frame of my '72 F-250. I think the narrower frame of my Highboy will just about accomodate two of these. I recently saw some extra Nasa rocket boosters for sale on E-bay. I'm pretty sure with some ductape and carboard I could re-structure my aerodynamic profile and make 240mph with these babies. Whadda ya'all think? Would I need to replace my 4.10 gears too, or simply put in better brakes?
Uh, Barry, I noted in that article that the fellow was driving a chevy...so I should be fine. Whos Red Green? Oh, and the overdrive tranny is a good idea....I think there is one in the local yard from a '86 Ford Tempo I could weld to my 428...
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Sep-02 AT 05:47 AM (EST)]Now how does that go?.. Oh ya now I remember, Something about more chlorine needed in the gene pool.
Maybe if the solid rocket booster is too expensive, you could make your own out of a camper shell filled with oxy-acetelene from your torch...
(I hope *everyone* knows I'm kidding, as this would probably level the better part of a a city block, if not blow out all of the windows.)
Thanks for the yucks!

I suspected that about those Darwin Awards...but its too bad, I kind of like the thought of the gene pool being self cleaning. On another note, ol' Mil1ion must have thought my original post was serious because he posted about it in the General Conference forum. he must have missed that other fellows "140mph what can do" post. Pretty funny stuff. Well, better infamous than obscure
No, I think that might be dangerous, what with the solid rocket boosters and all. Safety first you know. On another note, Mil said he actually wasn't taken in by my post but was just spreading the love over on the other forum. You can never tell with those wacky Canadians. I think its a plot for our beloved 67-72 forum to infilitrate the other forums here at FTE in order to accomplish utter 67-72 domination. But thats another thread....
