Angry shocks

I have a question that needs answering by someone in my same situation.
Like a lot of stock 4x4 superduty's mine came with Monroe Gas Magnum Shocks.
All of y'all who know they give a horribly rough ride. I desperately want to change it. I have looked at the Monroe Reflex shocks, skyjackers 7000 series, rancho's, and fabtech. I need to know if it is worth changing the stock shocks to one of those brands listed previously or if there is not much difference between stock and aftrermarket shocks. Unfortunately the city I drive in has poor road conditions so one I hate the ride and two I'm afraid the extremely stiff ride may be wearing out suspension and steering components prematurely.

Take a look at Bilstien shocks. I put them on my 04 F250 CC 4x4, and they helped the ride a bunch. Very impressed with them. As soon as I can I will be putting them on my 06.

another one for rsx's. I felt like the 5000's wouldn't be enough for mine and I don't really need the adjustibility of the 9000's so I went with rsx and have been very happy with them.

I found the 5000's to be real stiff. I wish I had gone with 9000's or something else.

the 5000's are stiff, but my truck handles, rides, and drives like a dream with a load on it unlike before. when i bought my 84 f-150 it had gabrial gasriders on it, once i put 150 pounds in the bed it would drive real stupid and ride like crap. put the ranchos on and its great.

Rancho RSX are the same as the Monroe Reflex. Made by Tenneco. I believe the Monroe's are cheaper. Good shocks. Good luck.

Check out a monotube shock like Bilstein, Edelbrock or KYB. You won't be disappointed.
