My floorboards rusted away at some time and were poorly replaced by someone. The metal cab mount on the frame looks just fine but the 'new' floorboards that were installed just sit directly on the frame bracket portion of the mount. There are no bushings or bolts. It appears that the new floor metal was made deep enough to compensate for the bushing thickness as I have no steering or alignment problems. I want to replace the floorboards with correct replacements and add the proper rubber bushing and bolt. But I have no idea what this looks like and I can't seem to find it in the assembly manual I bought. How are these actually supposed to look and work? Anybody have any pictures of thier mounts from the bottom side?
Thanks!
Larry, consider replacing the cab. Fixing someone elses hack job is usually more trouble than it is worth. You didn't say what year your truck is but I have seen many 70's vintage trucks in the junk yards with solid floors. If you have time and can weld you may be able to move an entire floor. Patch panels and cab mounts are available on this site.
