i getting ready to put chromolys in my drivetrain i have 12 inchs of lift i want to go with ethier 40s or 42s which tire wouild you pick?
i like the ground hawgs and the tsls which of these tires would be best for a combination of mud sand clay and the street which will last longer and do yall ahve any good sites to get them from or any pics thnaks for the help i do alot of driving on the road which gearing should i use i do about 65 to 70 mph most the time. thank again
I am running groundhawgs right now because I got a killer deal on them. They have good street characteristics and wear well, but they're no where near as good as a TSL in the mud. I don't have any experience with TSL's on the street, I'm sure somebody else with some experience will chime in.
Here are a couple links to some sites with info for you. The first one is for Interco Tire so you can see what's available. The second one is a website with calculators to help you determine what gear ratio to use.
A 40" Ground Hawg will measure around 38" actual height. The TSL's are true to their claimed size and will wear fairly good on the street if used on a properly aligned vehicle. Have you considered the Iroks? They wear well on the street and ride smooth.
What gearing do you need? That depends a little bit on what engine and transmission you have, but I would choose 4.56 gears.
with that much lift you can easily run 44's, but your going to regret running large tires on a dana 44...balljoints and wheelbearings will not be happy
i would suggest tsls or hawgs....irocs will wear as fast or faster than boggers
