Exclamation fuel tank removal

okay i got to remove both tanks i am going to fix one now and wait a few months to buy new tanks, out of cash. well my question is what do i have to do when i reinstall them because i know i will get air in the line, but i have also noticed to lines on each tank and i have the metal lines going to the injectors and then there is a rubber hose that runs between them then back to the ip. is this a return line??
also will i have to take a wrench and crack open every injector to get the air out??

never owned a diesel truck before so i dont know??

thanks for any help

you shouldent have to worry about a loght of air getting in the fuel lines, the lines from the tank seclector to the tanks are a hard plastic. they push onto the the fuel pickup and are secured with a duck bill clip. the clips usaly break so get some new ones, pop them off the tank and take a plastic bag put them over it the lines and tape it closed, and secure the disconnected lines high under the truck, this will help keep the fuel from flowing out the lines.
the rubber lines that are between the injectors, ip and fuel filter are return lines

'so other words just unhook those lines and remove the tank and keep the lines up high and fix my tank and stick it back and hook lines start the truck and it should be fine then

I would say yes, keep the RPM's up so it has a chance to pump the air through the IP before it stalls.

Is your truck a manual?
If so run the other tank till you get to a big hill going down and switch tanks then.

Get a new O ring for the tank connector when you get the new clips for it. Oil the O ring before you try to install the connector.
