scan tools

What is the best scan tool out there .Any where you can change the computor settings it seems most just read .Was looking at the X-ray tool any ideas?

The Snap On is likely the most comprehensive , But it will cost you . If you just need a simple easy to use scan tool for OBD II the Auto Xray is a good deal .

Thanks Paul. You sound like you do this for a living(fix Trucks) do you know of any that change the program or does ford have some kind off a lock on that.The reason was that I just wanted to do some tweaking for fun also can they read while your are driving the vehicle,Thanks for your time and help.

To the best of my knowledge there is no scan tool that can change the operating parameters of a vehicles computer . There are various chips that can be installed to change how the computer operates the engine etc . A scan tool is a diagnostic device , It helps a mechanic diagnose problems with the engine / powertrain .
