do i need a very large hammer

i have 1998 ford f-150--4.6 was running rough codes showed egr needed -replaced it and sensor--still rough--replaced 2 coil packs--plugs and wires--fuel filter-- removed throttle body cleaned port to egr--truck now wont start!!!!--checked shut off in door pannel--checked gas cap-tryed different keys--any suggestions did run --im after very big hammer

wont start now-- turns over acts as if not fireing checked plugs and wires-- checked ports for water from heater hose when removed--only think i have had that wont start after new plugs im stumped

After you changed the fuel filter did you cycle the key on and off to prime the fuel system? I guess you checked to see if your wires are hooked up correctly, remove a plug or use and old one to see if it is getting a spark. check for loose connections where you were working.

yes- have checked plugs and wires several times-- rechecked order of wires --fuel pump seems to be working ok --have fire at plugs

do you smell gas like its flooded when you crank it over. does it hit any at all.

when cranking you can tell gas is getting to throttle body (you can smell it)-no it isn't trying to start just tirns motor over

what kind of plugs did you use. back when autozone started pushing boush platniums, i worked there and had a guy come back with a new set that his chevy did the same thing. wouldn't start after the plug change. put a set of ac plugs in his chevy started right up.
