Well I got my motor to turn over today for about 3 seconds when I noticed the passenger side is spitting out oil/anti-freeze. This truck has sat for two years and hasn't ran since. Needs a good cleanup and having fuel issue too. Anyone know if I should rebuild this motor or go with a 400?
If the block is still good, you could rebuild the one you have into a 400. It doesn't take much more than a standard rebuild, except for swapping a crank and pistons for a 400. Bore it .030 over and you have yourself a 408.

Good, to know, I thought that was possible. Where can I get a kit do make it a 400? I've seen some on ebay that include pistons, but it's just for the 351m. Never done pistons.
You will have to take the block to a machine shop and have it overbored, then get oversize pistons. They typically overbore these +0.030'.
You cannot just replace the pistons with standards, because the cylinder will be out-of-round due to wear. Also since you have some water inthe cylinders the wall will have some rust.
