56 vent window install into frame?
If you are going to replace the side glass and you haven't removed the old glass, lay your new window over the old and mark which side is the bottom (it can go in two different ways) found out the $$$ way and had to call the dealer and tell the young lady she was right (that hurt the ego).
Any way have fun.Chuck

I am disappointed in the amount of rust inside the channel, and am scraping/sanding to as good of metal as I can find and hitting it with Rust Encapsulator. The mounting tape I got from Dennis C. is very nice stuff, appears to be tar-like and conforms nicely. Still, it will leave gaps where water can get in. I was also going to put window film on the glass (tint), but the DC tape needs to be trimmed and it seems like I'll unavoidably cut the film. Any tricks there?
I found a soapy water mix to really help get the glass and tape seated fully, but hate to trap water inside there.
go tinted glass. I took the vents and side glass down the street to local glass co.
As I watched they cleaned the vent frames. They then used a black butyl with a
caulk gun and slamed them in with a rubber hammer as well as the side glass channels
They use to use like black friction tape. They said they havent used tape for years
and the caulking gun is much stronger. After said and done they razor bladed them
and they came out perfectly for $90. On the down side, my first roll up I cracked the
\drivers glass. But it does look good tinted. My 56 is next.
