I need help with removal of a 1990 ford f-350 with a 460 computer. I dont understand exactly right where it is located and if I remove this part can I run this part down to a local ford dealership and have them test the computer. Please help thanks again and any help will be helpfull
I just pulled the computer from my 1990 F150 and if it is in the same place (which it should be) it is behind the plastic cover just to the left of the emergency brake. With a small forked pry bar you can pop the plastic rivet holding the panel on without breaking it and the computer is right behind the panel. You will have to go under the hood and remove the bolt that holds the wiring harness to the computer at the firewall and the computer will slide out from the inside the cab. Pull the rubber seal out and put it on the computer first when you reinstall or you will never get it back in. Good luck.
