C6 acting odd when cold
I just made a long trip in my 72 (1200 miles). The day after, I noticed when the engine is cold the tranny won't immediately shift into drive, in fact I have to give it a little gas and it will eventually go in (smoothly). After the truck is warm, it acts fine. I checked the fluid, it was a hair low, so I added fluid. I haven't checked it this morning, but what else should I look for? Thanks!

Sounds like the seals are hard and letting pressure by. How many mile is on it? The same thing happened to my car at about 160k and a fellow ford tech told me to change the fluid and put a pint of brake fluid in it. The brake fluid swells the seals and makes them seal. It has worked now for about 15k. But this is a temp fix only. You still need an overhaul

They also make a trans additive that does the same thing, and it's more compatible with the trans fluid. It too is only temporary. You'll need a tranny overhaul eventually. Look at your favorite parts store for the magic additive. Trans-Medic is one I've used with pretty good luck.
