1972 Ford pickup

I have a 72 Ford Camper Special. It runs great but I plan to use it as a daily driver in the spring. So I have some questions about some stuff I need to do this winter to prepare it for everyday driving.

1. Do I need to use lead replacement?
2. It has no stereo. Where am I going to put speakers. Gas tank behind seat...
3. Power steering--What do I need. Box, column,what else?
4. Air conditioning. It blows the fuse after a half four or so. I assume this is probably the blower motor drawing too many amps. Any thoughts?
5. Four barrel--Good idea or leave it alone? I have a Holley stree Dominator aluminum intake. It is a single plane though and I think it would be kind of worthless on a truck. It is a four speed though.
6. Electronic ignition? Dura Spark or what? What's best...Easiest.

I am particularly interested in the stereo question. I need a decent head unit and four speakers would be nice. Don't know where they are going though. Thanks, bryan

>1. Do I need to use lead replacement? NO.

>2. It has no stereo. Where am I going to put speakers.
>Gas tank behind seat... A couple places sell a headliner with four built-in speakers. That's your best bet unless you want to do some chopping, cutting and mounting in kick panels, doors and roof supports.

>3. Power steering--What do I need. Box, column, what else? If it doesn't have it now, go to a junkyard and salvage all the parts off any '70-76 with an FE in it...assuming you too have an FE.

>4. Air conditioning. It blows the fuse after a half four

>truck. It is a four speed though. Four barrel carbs are great ideas if coupled with the proper intake. Your single plane w/ a 4 bbl would only hurt low end performance....but if you want better top end...

>6. Electronic ignition? Dura Spark or what? What's
>best...Easiest. Pertronix point elimination system for $50-$60 is easiest and cheapest...possibly even the best.
