Set up my gallery

Hey, all. I decided to put together a small gallery of my recent progress. I'll post more pictures as I make more headway - I'm hoping to have it complete by the end of Spring.

Nice looking truck! Can't wait to see the motor, bed, etc... after you get it all put back together. Are you going with original wheels?

Yes, AK, I'm going with original wheels. They're color coded to the truck's paint color and I went with brand new tires with the 3.25 inch whitewalls. I don't have pictures of that yet, but they're already on the truck and they look incredible...especially with the new hub caps.

I also painted the motor to match original colors thanks to Fat Fendered Ford (Kevin) who did the research and turned me on to a provider for the correct color.

Thanks for all the great comments!

WOW! What great progress! I love that color and I'll bet it looks really cool with the wide whites

Thanks for sharing the pics

Sweet. Nothing goes with these old trucks like the Ford steelies. Good call on the whitewalls too.

Nothing looks better than a stock truck with the Meadow Green paint. What color will the grill be? Any plans for the seat and interior?

Geez, I wish my wife was as interested as you guys are. That and a pizza with a couple cold ones in the bed of my truck and my life would be complete!

KD - I don't have any plans to be at the nationals (unless you're talking about the Washington Nationals baseball team - my boss bought season tickets).

Abe - I love the meadow green. It was the original color on this truck and being the purist that I am, I stuck with it. Coincidentally, my father always had green Ford trucks for his construction business when I was growing up, so this feels right. I went with pure white for the grille and the parking lights. I had actually asked the paint shop to go with the original off-white color, but some people just don't listen. And I kind of like the way it looks so I didn't make a stink about it.

The interior was in darn good shape when I bought the truck back in '87 and the original seat just has one crack in the vinyl right around the driver's back left pants pocket. Since it's only through the vinyl and not through the fabric I'll just try to fix it.

I'm heading to Florida tomorrow morning for a week with the family, but when I get back I'll get some new pictures of the completed bed, grille, wheels, etc.

Thanks for your enthusiasm!
