I am having trouble starting my 81 F-100. When I crank it with the key it sounds like the starting is turning slow. After about 10 to 15 seconds it starts up. My Radio also resets afterwards. When I pop the hood and cross the connections on the starter selenoid it starts right up. Also I have to push up on the steering wheel to even get it to try and turn over. Please help!
sounds like ignition issues an possible bad battery or solenoid. check all of your grounds and maybe even try replaceing the battery cables with good thick ones. its amazing how bad they can get

Im agree with Kemicalburns. I used to have a issue with turning my 86 over and I would always try to jumpstart it, nothing I seem to do would work. Being a new battery I had doubts it was the problem. I took it to autozone, They hooked it up and checked it all and it was fine. So the battery was ruled out. One day trying to just start the truck I started touching wires and observing, the moment I pulled on the ground cable it made a spark noise and it started right up. Changed the Ground and never had issues ever again...
Id check the battery then replace the cables and see if that does you right.
