I am looking for a good fiberglass canopy to put on a new F350. I was wondering what other people have for canopies on their Super Duties, and how they like them. Links to pictures of your trucks with the caps on them would be great! I am leaning towards a Leer 100XQ, or the SnugTop Xtra Vision. Thank you!

 

I have on older 100XQ for my super duty. There are pictures in my gallery. I think this is by far the best looking Topper on the market. The lines match the truck really well, it seems to fit tight everywhere and I've never noticed problems with leaks. However mine does have some problems.

The push button latch on the back door gets dirty and doesn't work well at times. This may not be a problem for you depending on your driving habits but during hunting season or other times when I am traveling on gravel/country roads extensively I find myself having to hose it down with WD40. I realize that this is probably not the best lubricant for the job (I believe you are supposed to use a graphite powder) but my dad though he was helping me out one day and used WD40 to get it working better. From my experience once you use a liquid lubricant it is very hard to change back to a powder. If anyone has suggestions for me I am listening.

Also, the rear door opening seems to be about 3/4" too wide. I have adjusted the latches out as far as they go, and added washers under the catch. I have to push in on the rear corners while fastening the topper to the bed, and then it works fairly well. This summer I am going to try taking the topper off and putting a ratchet strap between the two catches and leave it sit for a while in the heat. I am hoping the fiberglass will have some creep in it and narrow the rear end up when I go to put it on next fall.

My topper is a about 5 years old so they may have already fixed many of the problems I had. I would say to talk to your dealer and see if they have had any problems, and what kind of guarantee he can give. I am happy overall with my purchase, but wanted to let you know of the problems I have had.

 

I have a Leer 100 XL on my F350. I am very happy with it. It was the one I had planned to order once I bought the truck then I came across my 04 by chance that had it installed already. Great cap. There are pictures in my gallery as well. Good luck.

I've got a Snugtop Expo. I'll try to get some pix up in the next couple of days. I like the windows opening up front - good breeze for my dogs. I got the remote control for the rear. That rocks. Fit is good. It's easy to take off, which is key for me.
