Brake hose disconnected?

Brake hose disconnected?
Walked up behind my truck and saw a brake hose hanging off - where does it go? On the top of the rear axle, drivers side, is a block: front end brake supply hose coming in, two sides steel lines going to each rear caliper, and then there is this hose coming off the rear of the block with a V shaped plastic fitting sticking into it, I cant find where the plastic fitting is supposed to stick in. Truck is a 99' F350 super duty. Please help.

That hose is the differential breather tube and has nothing to do with the brakes. That plastic tube on the free end doesn't get put into anything. It gets attached up to the frame. Somewhere out of the way of water getting in the plastic tube, but not stretching the hose tight, allowing enough extra play in the hose for the axle to flex and not stretch and break the hose. If you look up on the frame, you'll probably be able to see the scuff marks where it was mounted originally and the length of hose will also help guide you to where it used to be.
