Does anyone have any advise on how to do this easily? Any tricks?
Thanks for all the help guys. P.S. I really don't want to cut the fan shroud. The truck is an 04 Harley

I'd like to know too (6.0L) looks to me like the top rad. hose and obviously the shroud will have to come off...my service dept. said I could come in some time and they'd show me how to do it, but I never went in.

This would make a good article for the tech folder if someone in the know would reveal the process.

fan shroud has to come off. It comes out in 3 pieces. First remove 2 inch wide piece next to radiator, second, all bolts securing to radiator, third you need a fan clutch wrench to remove clutch from water pump, fourth, remove shroud next to radiator with fan( it aint easy) then there is 5 or 6 bolts holding inner shroud to motor. average time to remove it---2 to 3 hours

I had to have mine replaced at 30K miles on my 05. The belt was fraying. Couldn't believe I had to replace a belt that soon, but I found a TSB indicating that some water pump pulleys were damaging the serpentine belt. Got everything done under warantee so i don't know how hard it is to change yourself.

My belt started to squeal rather consistentlly. I bought a new belt and before I could make time to install it, the old one stopped squealing. I'm calling it fixed (diesel magic) for now and I have the new belt should I ever need it. Glad to know I wasn't the opnly one to wonder WTF when I looked at what was involved with replacing this belt.

It's not as bad as it looks. There is no need to cut the shroud or remove the radiator.

I have replaced a couple of belts on customers' trucks and have removed more fan shrouds than you can shake a stick at. It's pretty much just what vloney said in post #5.
