351 performance rebuild

I'm going to be doing my first rebuild in the near future after I join the airforce, since I'm new to actually getting into the engine and putting together compatible parts for the best performance. I was just going to rebuild the stock engine and bore it ove .30. would that make it a 357? I also wanted to put new heads, intake, camshaft, on it and wanted to know what would be the best combination in your opinion, while keeping the computer working and emissions happy. I was looking at the Performer 5.8 intake, and not sure about the heads. should i go with 185cc? And what's the largest lift on a cam i can have without the computer not knowing whats going on.

I already figured out what I want for the more simple parts to upgrade, ignition and exhaust and what not. Should I have the transmission rebuilt with performance parts or just buy a brand new complete performance one. do they make a stall torque converter for the e4od?. I just wanted advice on what would be a good build up for the bronco so I dont go buying parts that end up not complimenting each other. I'm looking for torque mostly. what all steps should i take to get a nice powerhouse engine that would last a decent amount of time and not get 5 miles to the gallon. I'll be doing some offroading but usually just a daily driver and people always try to race me at redlights so i would like to start beating those bitch *** hemis.

This is all going in a 91 bronco.

Limit cam lift to just around .5, much more is going to take you out of the daily driver category. Performer 5.8 intake is good choice, engine will breath better and torque should increase. Any good aftermarket heads will be of great help, just make sure they are SMOG legal. The compression ration you get at the end is very important to keep in mind. Keep it under 10, and you should be okay with pump gas, having aluminum heads will also help in this area. You will need larger fuel injectors if you do all these things. If your engine is an EFI speed density setup which I suspect it is, your biggest problem may be there. You will find a wide range of opinions on the best way to deal with this issue. As mentioned above, there are many discussions that cover some of these specific issues.
