Is there a number/letter in the VIN that will tell me if I have ABS installed on my truck? My insurance agent seems to think I don't, but the person I bought it from thought it did.
John
Turn the key to on. If you have ABS, then a ABS light should light up on the dash as the computer checks the system.
Marty
Well, by golly it does do that. Now how am I going to prove it to the insurance company? I was told by the clerk there that the ABS is specified in the VIN lookup that they use. I've tried every lookup site on the Internet and get a "not specified" notation for several of the code units. But I appreciate your response. Still hoping for an available resource to actually show the options installed. No original sticker available for a 1997 truck, you know?
John
Thank you for your response. I actually had this verified by the Ford mechanic when I had my truck serviced. You are 100% correct, and I appreciate it very much. Now I have to fax the repair order to my insurance company.
