oil separation filter for PVC line to help keep the MAF, TB, plenum runners and intake valves clean and engine at peak performance
install with brass pipe to tubing push on nipples to fit size of PVC line
really has helped my Aero 4L on long hot summer trips where oil puts out more voilitiles and more blowby into crankcase
have one on all the rigs...the PVC feed tube is close to the MAF and before the TB on my 4L
this is the lowest cost and easiest to install/service that I have found yet
These units are used in aircraft engine crankcase vents quite often. I think they are a great idea. Some time ago, I posted the installation of a crankcase vent filter to do the same thing.
Ford's putting the vent line so close to the maf sensor was really stupid.
If you have problems with blowby getting into the sensors and intake it may just help to replace your PCV valve. They do wear out and need to be replaced annually. Just because they rattle does not mean they are any good. Compare the position of the pintle valve on your old one with a new one by turning them upside down and look at the intake side. You can see if the spring has "sagged" any. If you still have problems replace the valve with one of the same configuration but for a larger displacement engine. The dealership may even have a part number for a high flow valve for your engine.
isn't that what the purpose of the PCV is? To remove combustion byproducts, fuel dilution and other volitiles that boil off from the oil?
Ford engine engineering placed the intake air feed point of PCV gases in the wrong point in many of their designs, should be as close to intake valves as possible, not next to MAF and prior to TB
May be one of the many reasons they can not longer build an engine Americans will buy or trust for 200k miles+....
