Hey uys I have a 93 with a 7.3 non turbo diesel. I right now have the stock exhaust on it without a muffler. I was wondering soon im going to be puttign a turbo on it and when i do I am going to run 4.5 inch pipe instead of the orignal 2.5 pipe. I probably am going to go withthe banks sidewinder kit. How much better will the truck run? also I was wondering how much quieter will the truck become with the turbo? I know turbo's quiet the sound some. Please let me know!
thanks,
Jimmy
PS also what size downpipe should i run?
downpipe= as big as you can fit in there.
big air intake+turbo+large exhaust = big power increase.
if you use a muffler you will not be that loud, and you will not hear it in the truck. outside it may be a little louder, and you may hear the turbo whistle.
well right now my truck has NO muffler and 2.5 exhaust and it runs whole way back behind the tire then turns out to the side (like orignal cause it is) but I have no muffler in it i took it out. its pretty loud and i love it. i like the noise from it. i just was wondering would it sound more liek a diesel instead of a gas motor with no exhaust?
thanks,
jimmy
PS How much more power do you think i will gain? do you think it will impress me by puttign big exhaust a turbo and a biger air inlet on it? mine is a standard shift also.
