pipe diameter

looking to put an exhaust tip on my truck and need to know what diameter the pipe is on an 01 V10. Also has anyone put one on theirs. The reason i am not doing the full exhaust yet is that i haven't found one that i really like sound wise, so in the mean time i am going for looks. Thanks

The stock OEM exhaust is 3"...so a 3.5" or 4" would look cool. IMHO...the straight cut is the best...vs the angle cut. Again...IMO.

Don't you know it's not about the size of the tip but how you use it?

I had a same size as stock diameter chrome tip welded on to the new gal by the guy that did my spray in liner... cost an extra $20 for the tip and he cut back the squared off tail pipe and tack welded the tip on for free.....

I kinda like where he had cut the stock pipe back to... about the chRome tiP??? Just another damned piece of crap to get mud and asphalt baked onto... I gave up cleaning and polishing the damned thing a year ago... looks just like the factory should have set up the final 8 inches...simple turn down oval cut outlet.

I like the sound of the tip... quiet!

Thumbs up Polish that sucker!

I took 800 grit wet & dry to my tailpipe, followed that with 1500 grit and I have to tell you that sucker shines real well. I use SS cleanser once a week and it stays mighty nice looking.
