swapping out distibutor

swapping out distibutor
Is it possible to put an old stlye piontsand condensor style distibutor in a newer (eletronic ignition) 302? I know that the new stuff is supposed to be better but they are a real pain to work on (to many wires lol). Thanks in advance for any info

Not sure of the year but it is in the mid 80s and is a 302 carbed going into an 88 big bronco. I know they are supposed to be better but i like pionts and plan to make this truck as basic as possilbe. Computers and other electronics only complicate things.

I think you're making a big mistake. It doesn't get any simpler than the Duraspark. No points, no condenser, not really a "computer", just an ignition control module. Oh yeah- welcome to FTE!
