Arrow What Fluids

I'm gonna flush my E4OD slush box and transfer. Has anyone ever pulled one of the cooler lines and let it run until the new juice comes out? I've done this on my Harley for changing the oil. I'm thinking it should be the same process.

What brands of fluid would anyone suggest for the tranny/xfer?

use that, i did and it worked well. one thing i did, was use a smaller diameter hose (clear plastic) and i heated the end with a blow torch to make it pliable, and then put the hose over the nipple on the return line. then use a hose clamp or two to hold it on. on the last fill when you row through the gears, the shift from N-D (i think) will shoot a huge load of fluid (err, transmission fluid) and it actually shot my hose off the return line and made a nice big puddle. the ATF i use and recommend is the AMSOIL torquedrive synthetic. it's expensive, but it's probably the last time or second to last time that you'll change it. they say it's good for 60,000 miles of HEAVY DUTY trucks (class 6 trucks and up) so it's more than adequate for light duty diesels... it's expensive, it cost me $175 for 5 gallons (i have a 4R100 so i needed 19 qts, you will probably too).

i would also recommend protecting the fluid by adding a inline MagneFine filter inline with the tranny cooler RETURN--> line from the cooler. the one that goes to the back. good luck.
