I have a 70 and a 67 F100s. Both have AC but are different. The 70 has a large box that drops down in the passenger side only. The 67 has a thinner runner under the dash that is on both the pass and drivers side. Are these both factory AC systems?
Your 70 system sounds like the factory one for 68-72. In 67, at least in the brochure, the factory one was similar to the Mustang unit. It was rectangular with round registers. I've seen two different makes of aftermarket systems that hug the curve under the dash. I'm sure there's others out there with a more intimate knowledge of these systems than me, though...
Thanks for the info guys. I'm still a little confused about it though.
Here's the one in my 70. I understand this to be the factory setup for 68-72:
Here's mine in the '67 which may be a dealer unit:
Now here's some found in other 67s:
and one from a 67 Mercury:
So which one is the correct 67 AC factory unit?
Are the dealer installed units any good? They look much less obtrusive than the factory units.
Thanks!
...and it's the Canadian Ford/Merc one to boot!
When I get my scanner, I'll send in a pic of all the ones I've got (67-71) plus my 67 Ford/Merc owners manual and my Matchbox 67 Ford pickups...
