Will a 300 6 bolt in my 65 f350 in place of the 352 v8? will engine mounts bolt to the 300? The 352 is mounted at the front and rear. Will trans and bellhousing bolt to the 300? How much trouble is the swap? THANKS FOR ANY INFO. MARK ALDERSON
The 300 will not bolt up to your 352 FE/FT transmision Bell housing.
Only another FE will fit that pattern.
The 350 uses a front snout mount and rear bell housing mounts.
To do the swap you will need the correct front bracket for the 300 along with the correct small block pattern bell housing that has the mounts integral.
The 300 will require different mounting than the FE as well as it's own bellhousing to mate with the motor.
Because of the mounting locations used on these older large trucks, you will actually need to retain the existing mounting for a replacement motor or get an engine swap kit with actual crossmembers. Find a nice little 390 to really make the truck some fun.
You had me worried you were going to put a small block Chevrolet in your Ford when I first read your thread! Whew, that's a relief! You will need a bellhousing from a 289, 300, 302, 351w. FE will not bolt up. 300 six...nice choice, a man after my own heart!
The 300 bell and front mount is actually easier to find than the FE mounts. It is in lots of old fords F350s and up in the yards as the 240 was the base engine for 65 66.
Thanks For The Info.the 352 Is Using Some Oil But Not Too Bad.i Was Just Checkinng Out Options.the 352 Distributor Is Also Worn.where Can Areplacement Be Found?
