Vibration
I just purchased a 2005 Mountaineer. After driving it a few hundred miles I realized that the vehicle has a high frequency vibration coming up through the
floor board. At first I didn't notice it but when my right foot began to go almost numb from it I realized there's a major problem.
I took the vehicle back to the dealer they rebalanced the tires checked the brakes. But nothing has changed.
I did some checking on my own. The vibration is not felt when the vehicle is running and in neutral. But as soon as it's put in gear it can be felt on the bottoms of my feet and in the seat. It feels almost like current flowing through the floor board and gas pedal. This indicates to me that either there is a transmission or flywheel issue or the vibration dampening is insufficient.
I travel quite a bit with my job and rent through Hertz Ford Explorers and never encountered this type situation with those vehicles. So this leads me to believe that this might be an isolated situation or maybe it's not. Does anyone recognize this problem?
Also, the salesman who sold me the vehicle also noticed the vibration after driving it for over an extended period of time.
Thank you for any input.
John
