AOD swap

I have a 1961 F-100 that I am putting a roller 302 and AOD into, and the quesion I have is what is involved in putting in the AOD to make sure everything works fine? I know about the kickdown but is there anything to do with electrical? Please any info would be great! Thanks

The only electrical on an AOD is the backup light and neutral safety switch.

The question I would have is did the roller motor come with the AOD or are you piecing together the two. If they came together then you're ok but if not then you should be concerned with flexplate, starter, block plate, and torque converter. As Casey put it, there are no electrical requirements with the AOD unless you want to incorporate the neutral safety switch and backup lamps which weren't an option in your truck. I recently added an AOD to my '66 so please ask if you run into any other issues.

Linkage, especially the "TV cable" is important. Without it, your trans won't shift down correctly and will burn out quickly. Check all the AOD threads, and/or here:
