Ok so this was my first time out in the dunes with ym truck for months. She did good and went up just about every hill in 2 wheel so i was excited. The problem was the suspension expecially the front is bouncier than hell. I have got rs9000's cranked full blast and it still would make your head hit the roof. Is there other options as far as coils? I have been thinking just finding a 60 and converting to leaf spring... Anyone have suggestions?
Your radius arm bushings may be shot to hell. That'll cause the front end to bounce around and cause the dreaded "death wobble". They're not that hard to change out.
Oh yeah. The forward motion of the truck pushes back on the axles and radius arms causing them to bind up and then rebound as you drive and hit a bump in the road. New bushing will keep the arms solidly in place as you drive and absorb any shock from the road.

check your trac bar bushings....and the trac bar bolt at the axle....the stock design is terrible because its single shear and the bolt eventually wallers out the hole
also check your radius arm brackets and drop brackets, those usually get pretty loose regualrly
Are radius arm bushing something you can change yourself? Or is it best to have your truck taken in and done? I have the new bushing here but I havn't put them on yet. My truck is a TTB.

why would you need to take it in to have done? only reasons i can think of are laziness, apathy, lack of tools, lack of confidence. just gotta pump up the front end to get all the weight taken off then slide the axle forward 6" or so. not hard, just takes some time.
brian, i would stick with the coils, esp since they are already there!

I just made my own trac bar bushings outta eurathane so they are solid. i guess I will need to do my radius's next. I may need more shock though I am not sure. how about a set of those superflex coils?
1. Place a jack under the radius arm and take off the bushing nuts
2. Grind off the heads of the rivets that hold the radius arms to the frame
3. Punch out the rivets and take the bracket off
4. Put on your new bushings, put the bracket back on and replace all the rivets with Grade 8 bolts and locking nuts and Loctite them.
5. You're done.
This is easier than un-bolting the coil springs, pulling the axle forward..... and it should only take a couple of hours.
