I got all of the parts from a 70s f series to put into my 67. Got everything cleaned and painted. I went to install the new pivot bushings from prothane and they aren't going to work. The bushings are round and the beams have an oval hole. Has anyone else had this problem. I have only seen listings that coverd all trucks in the 60s-70s year group. Any ideas? I don't exactly know what truck this all came off of but it has single piston calipers and everything else seems as if it will fit.
If I remember correctly, when I replaced mine, they appeared round with a tappered leading edge in the metal surrounding the rubber.. when they were pressed into the 'slightly' oval hole on the I beam, they took on the shape of the new hole. Mine at first did not look like they would fit.
Maybe someone else will add their knowledge to this question.
I got back into it this weekend. These I beams have oval holes that are about 2.5" long by 1.75" wide. They also have the same hole left to right. I need to get this taken care so I can get the truck back into roling condition. Anyone with advice?
