e4od shifting problem again

so i replaced my nuetral safety switch on my truck after my transmission wasnt shifting out of first. now whne you put it in drive, it starts in first then goes to second... and it stays in second, and doesnt go to third. it feels like it wants to but it doesnt. it jsut winds out in second. i had a post awhile ago about already replacing the tranny, and having this exact same problem witht he last one. i replace it and this **** happens again. please help. if you have any ideas please let me know, i already took it to a tranny shop and they said there was nothin electrical.
if it is int he valve body... is it hard to drop the vavle body and "clean" it?
thank ahead of time for the advice

the neutral safety switch has nothing to do with the truck shifting out of first, it only job is to allow the vehicle to start in park and neutral.

did you adjust linkage, and check the electrical connection to the transmission range sensor and the tr sensor itself, that shifts truck?

Wait a minute. Was the nuetral safety switch about 50 bucks? If thats the case, it's also known as the MLPS (Manual lever position sensor).

I guess it would help if you gave us the year of the truck and what engine, and the transmission code on the door tag.

Alrighty, now we're getting somewhere!

That sensor tells the computer what gear your in, and allows it to adjust line pressure inside the transmission judging by what gear its in (thanks to the MLPS), and also by the TPS (Throttle positon sensor.) The harder your foot is in the gas, the harder it shifts.

Have you been mud running or been through water lately? Mine shorted out when I went mud running, and it wouldn't shift out of 2nd. I pulled the sensor off and cleaned it up and then it worked fine after that.

I would either clean it and see if that does the trick, or have it tested at a tranny shop, and if it's bad, replace it.

No it sure doesnt. As long as it fits back around the shaft and you got the bolts in, it's been adjusted. I do believe that when it's installed, you have to have the trans in nuetral, and the sensor has to be in the "nuetral" position (it should be marked on the sensor.)

Now as far as the AOD transmission, the TV cable does require adjustments.

Highly doubt the PSOM would have anything to do with it. The TPS adjusts line pressure.

Wait a sec... where did you come from? lol

tps, throttle position switch is on the side of the throttle body.

vss, vehicle speed sensor is on top of rearend in a 94. it tells the vehicle how fast it is going, and the computer uses that for a lot of things including the transmission. also the abs works of this sensor.

you need to get yourself a manual to really help yourself out.

breather hose is not the vss.

it is an elec. connection on top.

it is either a bad switch, dirty switch, dirty ring that give it the signal, or it could be loose or corroded connection.
