anyone here done a Mass Air conversion on any F_Series with a
E4OD, Other that me? (I did my '92 F350) i'm having problems with the transmission part! i have the WAV1 ECM which is supposed to be for a '95 F150/ 5.0/ E4OD. i have the mass air working good, but the trans and the computer just aren't getting along! It is shifting up thru the gears , very hard and really fast, once it gets into OD, there is no T/C Lock_up, actually this is appearant in all gears 2-4 where the T/C should be locking up. The wiring is correct according to the Helms Ford Manual.
could the different gear ratio be playing HeL with the computer?, but if so, shouldn't i still get T/C Lock_up?
I don't know about the E4OD but when I put a 3.73 gear in my '94 Mustang with an AODE it messed up the shifting. Did you replace the entire wiring harness when you installed the new computer or use a conversion harness?
try pulling your codes. I get those same symptoms if I unplug my Maf and go into limp mode. I don't beleive the computer cares about gearing as long as the PSOM is programmed somewhat close.
are you sure that the computer for the 95 is programed for an e4od? Mine is a 4r70w automatic in my 95 5.0. im pretty sure that is what is in most of the 95 and 96 automatic trucks with 5.0s. I dont know if the computer is different for the e4od and 4r70w, but it may be worth looking into
I didnt know there was a conversion for the E4od.....eveything I have found is piggy back a computer(wich I cant find any info on), or use a trans controller(like I plan to use). Any info on what you did or what you used would be awsome...do you think you can put up an official MAF swap for the e40d guys thread?
Obtw, putting gears should have had no adverse affect on your transmissions shifting since there not connected in any way.
