Has anyone used other engine parts for a 302? Does any other parts interchange? 302, 351, etc?

Some Chrysler parts do, and I wondered if Fords do also.

I want to build it up with factory parts as much as possible.

Heads,valve covers,exhaust manifolds.The 351 is a taller deck block so the intake is different,the oil pan will not work either.Accesory brackets are sometimes interchangeable depending on year model.Distributor is different too.Lots of smaller stuff interchanges(rocker arms,oil filter,pullies,etc)

 

Lets just clarify we are talking about a 302 and a 351 "Windsor" since ford made 3 different types of 351s and a 352

 

When we were building up engines in our autoshop, for the fun of it I took my friends 351w head and set it on my 302 and it wouldnt fit, what gives? only certain years or something?

 

the head bolts on 5.0 heads are 7/16th i think and the 5.8 head bolts are 1/2".

 

Like the head wouldnt line up right though, like it wouldnt sit down right. I dont know if the alignment pegs were off or they used different ones or something. I dont exactly remember why it wouldnt fit

 

I know from experience the headers are interchangeable but I'm thinking of putting some 302 heads on a 351 if I can find out if they'll fit. Does anyone know if the cc's of the chambers are different?

 

if they are e7 heads they are the same. i dont know anything about other castings though
