I bought a '72 parts truck some time ago, and took all the things I wanted off of it. One of them was the under/in the bed toolbox that mounts on the passenger side in front of the rear wheel.
Here is my question...
I want to install it, but have been trying to figure out how to get the door on the toolbox flush with the rest of the bed. Does anyone have one of these boxes that can take a GOOD picture of how it mounts into the side of the bed. I believe there is a lip of metal that the plastic liner of the box screws to.
The parts truck bed was rotted out, so I was never absolutley able to tell how it mounted.
I can do that for you but don't see a place to add the picture here.
I can e-mail to personal address if you like.

I have a '69 and a '70, both with the tool box. I have never seen a plastic liner for one of these before. When did they start doing that? Would non-liner pics help you out any?
I have no clue when they started the plastic liner thing, but am curious to know what the inside of yours is and would love to see the pics of how it mounts into the side of the bed...I think I need some REAL DETAILED pics.
Here is a quickie from the 1970's rear corner of the tool box. The bed is recesed-in to accept the galvanized steel box. There are a total 15 screws including the screws on the three hinges. They screw into those "sandwiching" style sheetmetal nuts (between bed and tool box) that are sandwiching the bed material. The screw goes through the galvanized box, through one side of sandwich nut, through bed, and finally thread into other side of sandwich nut. The points of the screws can be seen poking through behind the fender.
