floorboard/carpet question

i am almost complete with a frame off restoration on my 68 f-250. one of my conversions was from a granny 4 speed to a c-6, i got a molded carpet from lmc for an automatic truck and it fits like crap it goes about 2-3 inches up the back cab wall without the gas tank in but it also is about 3/4 to 1 inch short of the kick panels on both sides, i did a search and found numerous articles on the tranny hump but am still a bit confused. this truck, like i said had a 4 spd and it has a bolt in hump did the autos just have a flat plate in place of this? i took the bolt in hump out and it fit a little better but still seems alittle too short on the sides? is there somewhere i can find a flat bolt in plate or should i just fabricate one my self or is there another fix? i really want the carpet to meet the kick panels and am not having much luck even with no pan in at all

The hump is shorter on an automatic than on the top loader 4-speed. You need the correct bolt in hump plate for your application. The hump for the automatic is not flat tho.

My '72 came with a C4 automatic and it did not have a bolt in hump...just short flat hump. I think the C6 equiped trucks had the higher bolt-in hump. If your carpet is for the C4 type hump then it won't fit right.
