B4000 tranny problems
OK with all the other problems I am working out on the little truck I lost a tranny today. I was going down the road and it in 5th gear then BANG then start going again. I went to where I was going parked in a big gravel parking lot and walked to the store. I got back the tranny is jamed truck will not move. Has anyone had this problem? A freind came to get me with a flat bed trailer and the truck is home. But I think I need a tranny. If anyone knows where this old disabled man can get a tranny here in WA cheap let me know?

Hi rodymartin,
Bone yards are also a good bet but you'll have to inquire about the vehicle it came from!
No matter what you do there is the word CHANCE attached to it!

I've heard of others having your same problem before with these trucks. A bang or whine, all is okay until you stop. Then it won't go in any gear.
I like car-part.com for used parts. They can find one near you.

In my area, AdvanceAuto & AutoZone sell salvaged auto parts now, so maybe you could begin to do some pricing with them.
Don't know what kind of warranty the hhave on their salvage parts though.
Is this a manual or auto tranny & what year is it????
