I have an 88 F350 ext cab and noticed that when the front is higher than the rear, the doors will close. Most cars have a spring and cam that will hold the door open until you pull it closed.
I looked at the upper door mount and noticed a nylon roller and a steel part sticking out near it, but they don't touch, and it won't bend. I tried to bend one side and it broke.
The steel part is probably broken - I don't know of parts to fix probably have go to a junk yard and pull a complete upper hinge unit if you can find one not already broken. Otherwise dealer or maybe an aftermarket seller??
