i have recently obtained a 67 f100. someone else had started an engine swap and quit in the middle, leaving the alternator and other wiring hanging. i have three wires comming out of the firewall on the left hand side. assuming these go to the oil and temp sending units and the ign coil. there are no marking on the voltage regulator to distinguish which wire is what.

engine is 300 6 cyl. i have been told it is the orignal engine
The voltage regulator is usually marked on the plastic insulator over the terminals. I, A, S, and F. The I terminal is spaced 1/4" more away from the other terminals. If you have the reg with the high top, you can replace it with a late 70's solid state regulator, has a cover about 3/4" high.
Connect the F to the fld term on the alternator. Connect A to the Bat+ on the solinoid. Connect S to a source that is hot when the key is on. The I term is not used unless you have a charge indicator lamp. The Bat term on the alternator goes to the Bat+ on the solinoid.
