ECI disc conversion hoses
I had a little trouble finding the right hoses from frame to caliper. I couldn't find any info on the net about the proper hoses to use and I didn't like the extra length of an adapter sticking out of the calipers. NAPA ppl helped me find a set that fit the caliper and the frame nut without adapters. Did a cross check on the part # - ended up hoses for a 60-64 F350!
Also - I spent 1/2 hour getting frustrated trying to figure out why my brakets wouldn't fit right - then I opened up the bag of parts and found the spacers!
I read and re-read the instructions a dozen times and missed the word 'spacers' every time. Doh!
I bought the basic kit and got the rotors, calipers, bearings, seals myself. The instructions (no diagrams) are decent enough. Read them several times and often! And check everything for clearance! I took a little off the calipers next to the line inlet to get a little more turn radius. Also, my old dust caps didn't fit like the instructions said. The brake hoses and lines were the biggest problem for me. The instructions don't mention those, so I had to figure that one out for myself. Also bought a 68 Mustang master cylinder and junk-yard found a proportioning valve (early 80's f150) and pedal mounted brake switch (90's Aerostar). The old plunger rod is too short for the new M/C, so I'm going to weld it the right length (might try the junkyards first). I'm not using a booster, at least for now. I'm working on plumbing all the lines right now. Going to put the proportioning valve under the cab on the frame rail near where the old lines intersected.
Oh yeah, the little O-rings that come with the calipers go inside the holes! There is a groove inside each hole. Then the spacers (that come with the calipers) slide into the large holes. Took half a day trying to figure out how GM did it - wound up going to a brake shop. And the brake pad without the holes goes against the plunger - the clip goes on that pad and inserts into the plunger.
It'll be awhile before I get to test 'em out, since the motor is out. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
