Engine Swap ????????
For all intents & purposes the engine bay is the same from 1965 through 1979. That's why you can use 76 frame stands, brackets & insulators to bolt a 385 series in your "Slick' as you are doing.
In fact Chad, you can bolt a 67 or a 66 cab on any 4X2 chassis from 65-79.
The only difference aside from an inch or 3 here & there in Wheelbase & track width between the 1965 -72 and 1973-79 is width of "C-A" or cab To Axle area which is wider on 73-9s. Otherwise it's all virtually the same thing.
L&L Makes great Stuff. FWIW Stud the heads using SS Studs & Brass Nuts with the thick SS Flat washers. . . . torque the header plates down when it id hot. Do it that way & they will never leak or blow out gaskets either.
Ever work on a Curtis Wright 2600/9 radial? That's how "CW" did exhaust collectors in WW II on the "warbirds". each jug had 4 studs & A holddown plate. The exhausts on the round engines are huge, heavy & full of vibes too. Done right, that way they don't leak even after hours & hours of Op Time.
