Hey folks. I am looking at a 03 F150 King Ranch and was wondering if there is anything to look out for. It only has 36000 mi on it and looks to be in mint condition, I am going to look at it and drive it tomorrow. If there is any info or help would be great.
My buddy bought his '03 King Ranch last fall w/23k on it. I have taken many trips in it with him. I have to say it is one SWEET ride. The beds on supercabs are just too small for my liking though. If the price is right...****** that baby up you won't be disappointed. Especially since its '03 or newer...has the improved head on it. So plug blowout is something you won't have to fear. Just look over the suspension and if it has a tow package see how worked over the receiver is...could be that all 36,000 miles were used to tow a camper or something. That is the only hang up I have of buying a used truck...you never know how hard it was worked over by the previous owner.
I have virtually the same truck and he actually gets a couple miles better than me. I think he gets about 13 city and 15 hwy.
Man I really love the interior of those King Ranches....I'd like to retro fit my Supercab with those seats and console.
I will agree the interior is awesome. That is one of the feature that really caught my eye. I am currently in a 03 Dodge 2500 hemi Laramie. I like but I need a change and want to go back to a half-ton since I am not pulling anything.
Wow step side bed and Scab...didn't even know they made that configuration in KRes. Pretty cool. My buddies interior is a bit different. It looks more like "aged" leather.
Well, those pictures were just after I bought it. The leather has aged a bit since then, but sill looks great. I use King Ranch Leather Conditioner on it every couple of months to keep it looking as good as possible. And, I don't think that the '03 Scab KR was very popular, I've never seen another one on the street here in Northern California.
Yeah, I can say for certain that I have never seen a Scab w/stepside bed King b4. I like it, pretty sweet ride. Still have the 5.4 I assume? My buddies leather is called "distressed" leather, it is intended to look worn. Anyhow, does yours have 17" wheels as well?
Yep, they are 17" wheels, and it has the 5.4 w/the tow package and 3.55 rear gears. I really enjoy the truck a lot! Owned 3 Rangers before this one, and I'd never trade back.
