Boost Question.....

Just need to know what boost is normal for stock and with a DP chip 40-80-120. I just installed some guages and what to see what is normal and what some of you guys are hitting. I am intake, exhaust,dp chip. And i tapped boost guage in the AIH delte plug just for reference.

Stock i am seeing 17
40 it looked like 24 ish
80 and 120 also looked like 24-26ish (i didnt stay on too long as i am still in process if installing pyrometer)

Just thought 30+ was going to be seen in teh 120 or even 80

So let me guys know.
Thanks

You'll never see any more the 26 or so unless you disable the wastegate and install a boost regulator valve between the MAP sensor and the intake manifold. The ECU is programmed to defuel if it see's an overboost situation.
Hmmmmmm................ I don't know if Jody's chip disables the defueling if boost levels get too high.

I can hit 27 PSI in the Race mode, but about that time my HPOP can't keep up and go any further, so that's my peak right there. I also have the boost tap in the AIH delete plug, and I have a regulator valve in the MAP sensor line. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys ....yeah i forgot to add i have the ITP diesels version of the boost regulator valve. So should not have a problem with any defueling at all. I just coudl have sworn Jody said 30+ would be seen on the 120 or even 80...but could be wrong. Guess maybe my Hpop is done right aounr there as well. Or maybe some boost leaks.....Curious on others boost numbers in different Jody settings.

Am I to assume that your wastegate is disabled?
Before you go and call it a bad HPOP, I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you hook up a fuel pressure guage to your truck and go drive it around. I was losing power at high rpm and it was loss of fuel pressure. Clogged fuel inlet screen inside the pump. Good enough for low to mid range, but above 2500 it was very flat.

Kwik what you just described fits my truck perfectly. What do you think is the easiest way to find out if that is the problem?

Kwik...my wg is NOT disabled. It is still all hooked up the way it should be , since unhooking it causes very serious backpressure issues. And on side note....are there any kits out there to hook up a FPR? Or is it a pretty straight forward " go buy parts" and hook up type of deal? I talked to Jody and actually i am pretty close to target boost. Said on 40 be bewteen 22-24, on the 80 setting 24-28, and on 120 26-30. As i said i have yet to fully stay into ito in either 80 or 120 since waiting to hook up egt, The boost i am hitting is a quick 2 second romp which is a pretty good idea...but prob will be 1-2 psi more if i stayed into it more. We will see later today. But i am about right only the 120 he said sounded a bit low...but once again could be due to need more time under load. He also has his Boost guage tapped on the hot side of y pipe so he said could be a slight variance there as well. And i am sure i have a few little boost leaks since still stock oily boots at 100k and few are always oil residue on them. So just figured i would share what Jody said, as i previous posted i thought he said 30+ , but i was off on that. And on a side note i will be dynoing tomorrow stock, 40, 80, 120 and will post results.
