Right. The gauge is fake. Has nothing to do with calibration. Within a certain range, they (the fake gauges) sit in the middle, basically.

No, they are not fake, they do give a true accurate reading you just need to know what the specific calibration is for the position the needle is showing, now you have a refined knowledge of what it is telling you.

2007 SCAB F-side with 5.4-3v ... straight up or very nearly so, Scan Gauge II usually says low to mid 190s.

I have seen the needle in the same position, straight up, when temps are around 220.
